Who runs this site

Tessera is built and operated by Jones Web Designs & Development, owned by Walter Jones. Contact: hello@tessera.bi.

What we collect

When you buy

• Email address — to deliver your license key and send updates about your purchase.
• Billing address — collected by Stripe, used for tax compliance.
• Payment card details — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card number.

When you activate a license

• Your site's domain — recorded against your license to enforce site limits.
• Anonymous activation pings — Tessera revalidates your license weekly. These pings include your domain and license key, nothing else.

When you use the plugin

The plugin runs entirely on your WordPress install. Form entries, dashboards, and widget data never leave your server. The only exceptions:

• If you enable AI Insights with your own API key, dashboard aggregates (not raw entries) are sent to your chosen AI provider (Claude / OpenAI / Gemini / Groq).
• License validation pings (described above).

How we use your data

• Send you your license key and renewal notices.
• Enforce per-site activation limits.
• Reply when you email support.
• Send security or critical-update notices (you can't opt out of these for active licenses).
• Aggregate (de-identified) statistics like "% of customers using AI Insights" to inform development.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent, or trade your data.
• We don't run ads or share data with ad networks.
• We don't use your form data, dashboards, or widget configs for anything.
• We don't have a tracking pixel on the marketing site.

Your rights

You can:

• Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data (note: this voids any active license).
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Object to processing.

Cookies

This marketing site uses one cookie: your Stripe Checkout session, which Stripe sets when you click "Get Tessera". The customer portal uses sessionStorage (cleared when you close the tab) for keeping you logged in while browsing.

Data retention

• Purchase records: retained for 7 years for tax compliance.
• License records: retained as long as your license is active + 1 year.
• Email correspondence: retained for 2 years.

Children's privacy

Tessera is a B2B product for WordPress site owners. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be emailed to active license holders. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
